The burlesque scene in New York is an especially vibrant place, a place I do not often frequent, although in the handful of times I have journeyed forth, I have had the best time, and SwitchNPlay's event at Brooklyn's Branded Saloon was no exception. It was a somewhat special night—the first time I watched a dear friend—Misc Allaneous DomTop (her real identity shall remain anonymous - not so much at her request, more to create mystique and kudos for yours truly!), perform drag-burlesque.
What a fabulous night! Full of fun, sexiness, girls who were boys, boys who were girls, and a mixed queer crowd. Joyous! Of course I was biased, but—O, Misc. DomTop was good! That burlesque shit is not easy: playing with the audience, moving with agility to precision choreography, whilst deftly uncoupling oneself from tight costume pieces, whipping with a cat o'nine tails, and all on a stage the size of a postage stamp! AMAZING.
If this was anything to go by, I can't wait to see more of her output! And this is where it's all going. A little video entitled 'Running Late To The Dungeon'. Yaassss!
