James has had the honor of working as an actor, vocalist, director, educator and producer. He is deeply grateful for the broad canvas upon which he has had the good fortune to experiment and play.

 

Storytelling has been at the centre of his career life from the outset, and stepping behind the microphone feels like the most natural extension of that work. His directing background really shapes his approach: he's intentional, emotionally clear, and always focused on serving the author’s voice. He loves digging into tone, character dynamics, and pacing.

​Most recently, James received an exciting and rare opportunity to participate in a duet narration of independent author Ana Fitz's Young Adult Fantasy novel Gyles Gargoyle, where he plays the lead, Gyles, and a host of other larger-than-life characters. The project was directed by the hugely talented Deanna Anthony, produced by John Marshall Media and recorded at Mosaic Audio in Burbank. It is currently in post-production.

 

James has a naturally resonant, conversational tone that is engaging, warm and rich. Because of his comprehensive body of professional work and diverse life experience, he has the flexibility to embrace a wide variety of characters and genres, and embody a vibrant confidence of delivery. James' natural voice is London/RP.
