BROOKLYN PREMIERE. EUROPEAN TOUR.

Starring FRANCESCA VAN HORNE. Directed by JAMES PHILLIP GATES.

After a successful world premiere run of Francesca Van Horne’s TALES FROM THE TRUNDLE at the prestigious 7th Annual United Solo Festival, this original one-woman drama arrives in Brooklyn for a local neighborhood premiere before embarking on a European tour to Paris and London.

Telling of a mother’s survival from abuse & addiction, battling the New York court system and divorce, this story is a journey into healing. Through laughter, tears, friendship, romance and sex, via Paris and Los Angeles, we are led to the ultimate destination of transformation and self-love.

Francesca Van Horne has appeared in a recent run of DANCING THROUGH IT at The One Festival, following a hugely successful run at The Cherry Lane Theatre: “All the characters, so authentically played, it’s easy to forget there’s one person playing them”, Tribeca Tribune. She has also appeared in several national commercials, and the upcoming features EL GALLO, directed by Ali Aboumar (THE DEVIL SEES RED), and ST. NICHOLAS directed by José Esquea (HOLES).

Director James Philip Gates is both a freelance director and the Artistic Director of Roust Theatre Company. Credits include Brecht's THE PRIVATE LIFE OF THE MASTER RACE, hailed by the New York Times as “Vivid, clever and spare, preserving the spirit of Brecht's complex moral and social vision, James Phillip Gates directs with an eye to simplicity”, Jose Rivera's CLOUD TECTONICS, Lee Blessing's TWO ROOMS and MACBETH: “You'll probably never find a sexier, more violent production of ‘Macbeth’...a breathtaking, intermissionless, 110-minute experience.” - Drama Desk. He is a member of The Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab.
